The Cellular Design
When we talk about the cellular shade structure, we often mention the cell-within-a-cell design. This is what makes honeycomb shades so energy efficient. The interior of the cells features pockets of air, capable of trapping the interior air, creating a barrier of insulation. When exterior air meets with interior air, normally a change in temperature takes place. But, with the layer of insulation provided by this cellular shade design, it prevents the exterior air from influencing the interior air, thus regulating interior temperatures easier.
